My Offseason Workout

I basically train 365 days a year and don't really have an offseason. This not only keeps me in good shape while I'm not playing football, but I'm fully ready to go on the first day of training camp. I believe that if I stay full fit year-round, there will be a much smaller chance of getting hurt for the season. Here is my offseason workout schedule:

 

Monday (Legs) - heavy front squats, lunges, leg presses, leg extensions, hamstrings, abdominals

Tuesday (Push) - chest, shoulders, triceps, abs

Wednesday (Pull) - back, lats, biceps, abs

Thursday (Legs) - lighter with explosive movements (power cleans, box jumps, one-leg extensions, one-leg curls) working the fast twitch muscles

Friday - overall body using light weight

*In addition, I does the following daily:

   1. one-half mile run on the beach (warm-up)

   2. 120 yards of straight vertical stairs, six times (approximately 25 flights)

   3. one-half mile run (cool down)
